74 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the fees and maintenance grants for higher education applicants in 1995; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that only the income guidelines, without the fee and maintenance levels, which are key pieces of information for 1995 grant applicants have been advised to local authorities; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Local authorities have been provided with the necessary information to allow them to process fully applications for higher education grants for those entering third level education this year. The 1994-95 maximum maintenance grant is £1,486 and the maximum fee grant is £2,310. The local authorities have been advised that the level of maintenance and fee grants for 1995-96 which have not yet been finalised, will be conveyed to them in the near future.
