94 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to introduce a ban on bituminous coal in Galway city; if he will have arrangements made to have the matter investigated in the interests of a healthy environment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department will shortly be concluding its annual review of urban air quality in relation to the 1994-95 heating season. This review will assess all relevant air quality monitoring data for the urban areas concerned, including Galway City, and identify any further measures which may be required to maintain statutory air quality standards in these areas.
