Ceist:

102 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Health, in relation to the disposal of waste from Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, County Meath, if he will define the term "clinical waste"; where on the hospital premises such clinical waste is incinerated; the way in which residue from the incineration process is disposed of; whether the hospital has applied to the Environmental Protection Agency, Meath County Council or any other licensing body for a permit to incinerate clinical waste at the hospital; the monitoring, if any, which is carried out with regard to the incineration of clinical waste at the hospital; if he will differentiate between clinical and non-clinical waste; where such non-clinical waste is disposed of and the situation of the relevant landfill; the name of the removal contractor for such non-clinical waste; in regard to the removal of non-clinical waste from the hospital, whether all appropriate statutory documentation has been completed by hospital staff, contractors, drivers, landfill operators and local authorities as required under EU Statutory Instrument 33 of 1995; whether he intends publishing the results of inspection and the recommendations of the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland; the members of the hospital advisory committee; if he will make available for inspection the hospital safety statement and monitoring results, together with the recommendations of the hospital advisory committee regarding the implementation of standards within the hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Limerick East): The detailed information requested by the Deputy in relation to the disposal of waste from Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, is not available in the Department. The North-Eastern Health Board has been asked to supply this information and I will arrange to have it sent to the Deputy when it becomes available.
