Vol. 455 No. 1

Written Answers. - Family Planning Services.

Mary Wallace

Ceist:

69 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health the level of funding he intends to provide in 1995 and in subsequent years to fully implement the requirement of his Department's guidelines on family planning services; and the timescale and monitoring procedures for the fulfilment of these guidelines. [11684/95]

Limerick East): I have provided additional funding of £730,000 this year for the development of comprehensive family planning services. Health boards are required to report to my Department the specific measures which will be implemented to comply with the guidelines on family planning. These reports are currently being received and examined within my Department. The level of funding for family planning services in subsequent years will be considered in the context of the overall funding available and the competing priorities for same.
