Vol. 455 No. 1

Written Answers. - Lahinch (Clare) Sewerage System.

Tony Killeen

Ceist:

92 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that developments in Lahinch, County Clare, under the 1995 resorts scheme cannot proceed until proposed improvements to the town's sewerage system are undertaken; and when these works will commence. [11896/95]

Clare County Council have proposed the extension of the sewage collection and treatment system at Lahinch, at an estimated cost of £3.75 million. My Department has included the proposal in an integrated application for Cohesion Fund assistance for water and sewerage projects for the Burren region. It would be the intention to advance individual projects as soon as the overall application is determined by the European Commission.
