With regard to Coláiste Éanna, the first phase of the extension project comprising 743 square metres and costing approximately £470,000 is practically completed. The accommodation provided in this phase consists of seven general classrooms, a commerce room, staffroom, social studies room and language laboratory. The schedule of accommodation for the second phase has not yet been finalised by my Department's planning and building unit so it is not possible at this time to provide the details. However, the Department's senior inspector is expected to visit the school shortly to determine the accommodation requirements for this phase.
The first phase of the project at Coláiste Éanna is intended to cater mainly for increased student numbers from the Ballyroan area, the second for students from Knocklyon.
The planning of a 1,050 square metres extension for Templeogue College is currently under way. The school has recently been instructed to proceed to stage 4 of the planning process. It is hoped that construction will commence in 1996. The following accommodation will be provided by this extension: four general classrooms, a language laboratory, science laboratory and preparation area, demonstration room, an art and craft room and a technology room.
