213 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Justice if she will give details of the formal proposals which were reported to have been made to her by the Minister of State in her Department in relation to the crisis in our jails; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1900/96]
In the normal course of events, I would have discussions regarding prisons and other matters with both Ministers of State in my Department. I regard these as private discussions and I can assure the Deputy that any proposal made by either Minister regarding the prisons or other matters are carefully considered within my Department and in consultation with the relevant Minister of State.
