40 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the progress, if any, that has been made regarding the transfer of the EU Commission's veterinary and plant inspection office to Grange, County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18449/95]
Outline plans of the office requirements for the EU Office of Veterinary and Plant Health Inspection and Control at Grange have been examined and discussed by officials of my Department and the Office of Public Works with officials of the EU Commission. Arising from this, the Office of Public Works has carried out an initial survey of the site and prepared a preliminary set of drawings of the proposed office. These have been sent to the EU Commission and further discussions are being arranged with a view to finalising details of the construction and financing of the buildings.
