Written Answers - Provision of Remedial Teacher.
I approved the allocation of an additional 73 ex-quota remedial posts to second level schools this year. These posts were allocated on the basis of priority of need and having regard to the existing teaching provision in schools. Given this fact and the limited number of posts available, I was not in a position to allocate a remedial post to the school referred to by the Deputy this year. The position will be considered again when next it is possible to allocate additional remedial posts.
