233 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a forestry grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that his Department promised that this grant would be paid directly to the applicant's bank account. [2258/96]
This person gave permission to another to plant his lands at Gortacrue and to be paid a grant. This other person in turn, gave written authorisation to my Department that any grant payments be issued directly to the forestry contractor who undertook the work. The first instalment afforestation grant was payable under the Forestry Operational Programme and was issued to the contractor on 10 March 1993.
234 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the current position regarding an application for installation aid lodged by a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [2259/96]
The applicant was deemed ineligible for installation aid and was informed accordingly by letter dated 9 June 1993.
