160 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education the reason the full grant for an extension to a school (details supplied) in south County Tipperary has not yet been paid; when this account will be finalised; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5494/96]
The grant for the extension to the school to which the Deputy refers was paid by my Department on 22 November 1995. The amount of grant-aid paid was that agreed between my Department and the school authorities at the time the extension was undertaken. The school authorities have now sought an increase on this agreed amount of grant-aid for the work. This request is under consideration. When a decision is taken, the school authorities will be notified of the outcome without delay.
