Ceist:228 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare when he will publish the results of a survey on occupational pension schemes commissioned by his Department in 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5706/96]
Written Answers. - Pension Schemes Report.
This survey of occupational pension schemes, which was recommended by the National Pensions Board, has been commissioned jointly by the Department and the pensions board. The survey is being undertaken by the Economic and Social Research Institute. A report, which it is intended to publish, will be available by the middle of this year.
The last major survey was carried out in 1985 and the results of this new survey will give essential up-to-date information on occupational cover, which will be of considerable assistance when proposals in relation to pensions are being formulated.
