67 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Finance whether the Office of Public Works has completed a feasibility examination of extending a Garda station (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5470/96]

I am advised by the Commissioners of Public Works that the station in question has been evaluated and that the accommodation brief can be met by extending the building.

On the basis of the above report, preliminary design has commenced and will be forwarded to the Department of Justice for approval in due course.
