42 Miss Flaherty asked the Minister for Health the reason the drug taxol used in the treatment of women with ovarian cancer is only funded in one hospital; and when it will be made available to all patients in all hospitals. [3800/96]
Limerick East): The drug taxol has been authorised for use by the National Drugs Advisory Board since February 1994. I understand that it has been used in a number of hospitals throughout the country. I am informed that there have been no difficulties, on the part of consultants, in prescribing this drug for patients where clinically recommended.
