Ceist:8 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Taoiseach the level of remuneration of the non-executive directors of boards, companies or agencies under the aegis of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6502/96]

The only board, company or agency under the aegis of my Department for which non-executive directors receive remuneration is the National Statistics Board. The chairperson of the board received £4,000 per annum and the four other non-Civil Service members of the board receive £1,000 per annum. The remaining three board members are civil servants and do not receive remuneration for their work with the board.
