Ceist:130 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health the number of people currently being treated for drug addition in the Dún Laoghaire area of County Dublin. [7144/96]
Written Answers. - Dún Laoghaire (Dublin) Drug Addiction Numbers.
Limerick East): At present, persons from the Dún Laoghaire area are referred to the Drug Treatment Centre in Pearse Street, Dublin 2. The latest available statistics from the Health Research Board indicate that there are approximately 100 people from Dún Laoghaire receiving treatment in Dublin.
I would point out that this figure relates to the number of persons receiving treatment for drug misuse. The indications are that the number of persons actually misusing drugs would be greatly in excess of this figure.
