Vol. 463 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin Traffic Manager Appointment.

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

163 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to appoint a traffic manager for the Dublin area; the brief for this job; the expected date for the filling of this post; the body under which this person will work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7238/96]

In the light of the Government decision to establish a post of director of traffic for Dublin, a public advertisement on 26 January 1996 invited consultants to submit proposals to undertake a study to define the organisational structure required to ensure that the director can fully and effectively discharge his/her functions. Eight proposals were received and the selection of a consultant to undertake the study is now being finalised.
