Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 30 from Deputy Michael McDowell and I call on him to state the matter of which he has given notice.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 30.
I move the Adjournment of the Dáil to discuss a matter of urgent public importance, namely, the need to restore confidence in the impartiality of the Independent Radio and Television Commission by reason of the revelation concerning the chairman's fund raising activities for the Labour Party.
The matter, having been fully considered, is not considered to be one contemplated by the Standing Order and, therefore, permission cannot be granted to move the motion.
