Ceist:

240 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Social Welfare the name, location and number of staff employed in each agency, organisation or body under the aegis of his Department which has a responsibility in relation to job creation, including tourism, enterprise promotion, community, rural or urban development and EU initiatives, including disbursement of grant aid. The principal agency under the aegis of my Department which has a responsibility in relation to community, rural or urban development and EU initiatives, including disbursement of grant aid, is the Combat Poverty Agency.

The name, location and number of staff employed in the agency is set out in the following table.

The table includes all of the staff employed in the Combat Poverty Agency as all of the CPA staff are, to varying degrees, involved in issues relating to community development.

In addition, the Deputy may wish to note that the National Social Services Board (NSSB), with its headquarters in Dublin, is also under the aegis of my Department and is involved in advising on the development of social services generally and promotes and resources services which disseminate information and advice to the public, including the National Council for the Elderly and the National Validation Body on Social Work at present under the aegis of the NSSB, the number of staff currently employed is 35.
