Ceist:

50 Mr. Nolan asked the Minister for Justice the number of cases which have been listed for hearing in the non-jury list in the High Court each week since 11 January 1996; and the number of cases which have been adjourned by reason of the non-availability of a judge to hear these cases. [7051/96]

The total number of cases which were listed in the non-jury list in the High Court from 11 January to 29 March 1996 and the number of such cases which were adjourned due to the non-availability of a judge to hear the individual cases on the dates on which they were listed is set out hereunder.

I understand that any case which is not heard on the date allocated to it is given priority in the list to fix dates for the next legal term.
I should also say that the distribution and allocation of the business of the High Court is a matter for the President of the High Court and I have no function in the matter.
