I hope to publish shortly an employment equality Bill that will prohibit discrimination in employment on a wide range of grounds. The Bill will prohibit discrimination on age grounds in employment subject to certain conditions and will cover recruitment advertisements. The Bill also proposes to cover conditions of employment generally including redundancy measures other than pension arrangements based on actuarial principles.
