My Department has not carried out any analysis on the return on investment in marinas.
Individual marina development projects which are the subject of applications for grant assistance under, for example, the Operational Programme for Tourism, International Fund for Ireland or INTERREG programmes are evaluated by reference to the criteria set out in the relevant programme. Such evaluation may include consideration of the return on investment. This, however, is a matter for the relevant State agencies and decision making authorities and I have no function in this regard.
