195 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the cost by stage of the preparation, production and distribution of the strategy paper on the Labour market entitled Growing and Sharing our Employment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8648/96]

The bulk of the work of preparing the strategy paper, "Growing and Sharing our Employment", was carried out by staff of my Department, in consultation with staff from a number of other Departments, as part of their normal duties. It would be difficult to provide a meaningful estimate of these staffing costs.

Some additional costs were incurred in connection with the external review, editing, design, printing and launch of the publication. These costs are estimated at approximately £16,000, about half of which is accounted for by the cost of printing.
