Vol. 464 No. 7

Written Answers. - Indicative Drug Target Savings Scheme.

Batt O'Keeffe

Ceist:

56 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if he intends to accept the proposals of the Southern Health Board to take direct control of general practitioners' share of their indicative drug prescribing savings. [5710/96]

, Limerick East): The Southern Health Board has made no such proposals to my Department. The position in relation to the indicative drug target savings scheme is that doctors are allowed to invest their portion of the savings in their own practice with the prior approval of the relevant health board.
