59 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the Garda stations in the J District of the Dublin Metropolitan Area; if he will give a breakdown of the total personnel in each station; the number of motor vehicles available for patrol in the course of each shift; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Garda authorities are responsible for the detailed allocation of Garda resources and personnel to different areas. They have expressed concern, and I share that concern, about supplying the kind of detailed information relating to Garda personnel sought by the Deputy, on the grounds of security and in the interests of crime prevention generally.
The overall Garda strength, by rank, as at 30 April 1996 in J District, is as follows:
