Vol. 465 No. 5

Written Answers. - Civil Servant's Transfer.

Mary O'Rourke

Ceist:

35 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Finance if he will review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who is seeking a transfer and whose case has been considered suitable for such a transfer. [10035/96]

Any resolution of this case is a matter, in the first instance, for the individual's present employing Department and any potential employing Department to which that individual might be transferred. The Deputy will appreciate that it would be neither possible, nor desirable, for my Department to issue instructions in a case such as this; any involvement on the part of my Department must remain at the level of facilitation rather than direct intervention.

My understanding is that there is no suitable vacancy for the individual in question at this time. However, should a transfer be possible at a later date, the case will be considered sympathetically, subject to the requirements of the transfer scheme for members of the grade.
