Vol. 465 No. 5

Written Answers. - Insurance Claims.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

57 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the total amount of moneys paid out by insurance companies arising out of claims in respect of each of the years from 1990 to 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9971/96]

I refer the Deputy to the information contained in the insurance annual reports for the year 1990 to 1994 which are available in the Dáil Library. Figures for 1995 are not yet available, but will appear in the 1995 insurance annual report, which should be published in late 1996.

The following table shows the total amount of moneys paid by authorised insurance companies for the years 1990 to 1994. The figures have been extracted from the relevant insurance annual reports for the period and include claims paid outside Ireland by authorised Irish insurance companies.
