Written Answers. - Blackrock (Dublin) School.

Micheál Martin

Ceist:

91 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to extend Carysfort primary school, Blackrock, County Dublin, to cater for an increased number of pupils. [10589/96]

Ceist:

92 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education the reason more than 40 children in Blackrock, County Dublin are being deprived of school places in the school year 1996-97 in view of a lack of extra space in the only primary school in that parish. [10590/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 91 and 92 together.

I am aware of the problem associated with the shortage of school places in this area of south county Dublin.

My Department is pursuing the matter and a number of possible strategies are being considered at present.
