75 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education the number of primary and secondary schools that possess computers; and the corresponding figures for E-mail addresses in respect of these schools. [10662/96]
My Department does not have precise data on the extent to which schools have computers and E-mail addresses. It is estimated that in the 1995-96 school year at least 1,700 of the 3,335 primary schools and all 768 second-level schools possess computers. It is estimated that some 600 schools, the majority being second-level schools, have E-mail addresses.
