Vol. 465 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Dublin School Building Project.

Mary Harney

Ceist:

77 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the reason her Department is insisting that a school building project (details supplied) in County Dublin will take 16 months in view of the fact that the builder concerned has stated he can complete the work in six months; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10693/96]

My Department is not insisting that the contract in question should take 16 months to complete. The contractor has indicated that he can complete the contract satisfactorily within a shorter timeframe and my Department will be very pleased if this is achieved. The contractor is aware of the Department's views.
