Vol. 466 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Mayo Sewerage Schemes.

Tom Moffatt

Ceist:

150 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals, if any, he has received from Mayo County Council under the small schemes to extend the existing sewerage scheme to the Belass/Clossagh area of Foxford, County Mayo. [11721/96]

The Foxford scheme was one of two proposals received from Mayo County Council under my Department's 1996 small schemes programme.

I recently approved a grant of £75,000 for Cong water supply under the programme; the proposal for Foxford will be considered for approval later this year.

Ceist:

151 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for the Environment when he proposes to approve the Bangor/Erris regional water supply scheme costing £3,500,000 and which will service Pullathomas, Glenamoy, Geesala, Dobhoma, Daggart and the hinterland of Bangor. [11722/96]

Having regard to the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, it is not possible to say when this scheme can be approved.

Ceist:

152 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals, if any, he has received from Mayo County Council under the small schemes to provide a sewerage system for Bonniconlon. [11723/96]

A preliminary report for the Bonniconlon sewerage scheme is with my Department. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve it. No proposal was received under the small schemes programme in respect of the scheme.

Ceist:

153 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals, if any, he has received from Mayo County Council to provide for a new water main to supply Rahestreet, Crossmolina under the small schemes in view of the poor supply which the existing outdated main is supplying to this area. [11724/96]

I refer to the reply to Question No. 136 of 12 March 1996; the position is unchanged.

Tom Moffatt

Ceist:

154 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the lack of storm water drainage in the Ballina urban area which is seriously curtailing development; and the proposals, if any, he has received from Ballina Urban District Council and/or Mayo County Council in respect of this matter. [11725/96]

A preliminary report for this scheme is with my Department. Having regard to the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve it.
