Ahern asked the Minister for Education when funding will be provided in respect of a new roof for the gymnasium and an extension to Loreto secondary school, Letterkenny, County Donegal; and her views on whether this roof is in immediate need of replacement in view of an architect's report that the operation of this school is restricted by a lack of space and facilities. An application for grant assistance towards roof repairs at the gymnasium of the Loreto secondary school has been received by officials in my Department.
It is hoped that this project will be proceeded with as soon as financial provisions allow.
The school authorities have recently accepted a schedule of residual accommodation in respect of their application for permanent accommodation. My Department is currently considering the appointment of a design team in order to initiate architectural planning of the project.
