227 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to complaints regarding illegal gambling being carried on at premises (details supplied) in Dublin 8; if her attention has further been drawn to complaints lodged by former employees of these establishments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that they are currently investigating allegations that illegal gaming is taking place at the establishments referred to by the Deputy.

The Garda are also aware of complaints lodged by former employees of these establishments.

It would be improper of me to comment any further in this matter in case it would prejudice Garda operations in this regard.
