259 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will ensure that all avenues are investigated in order to settle the dispute at Anglo Irish Beef Processors. Ravensdale, Dundalk, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11775/96]
The responsibility for settling industrial disputes ultimately rests with the parties in dispute. The services of the Labour Relations Commission and the Labour Court are, of course, available where required by the parties to assist in the settlement of disputes.
With regard to the dispute referred to by the Deputy, I am informed that, following assistance from the Labour Relations Commission, the parties have agreed to a referral to the Labour Court in a further effort to reach a settlement.
