69 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs whether money will be made available from the Scholarship Exchange Board, the Cultural Relations Committee or any other source for assistance in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Donegal who has become one of three persons to be offered a place in Yale University to study playwriting. Scholars and students have already been selected by the Ireland-United States Commission for Educational Exchange for the 1996-97 academic year Fulbright programme and the funding available would not make it possible to add to those already selected.
An official of my Department's cultural section will contact the Deputy to get more details of the person in question in order to ascertain if any other source of funding exists.
The Cultural Relations Committee unfortunately does not fund applications for study abroad.
