77 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, that exist for the future development of a site on Infirmary Road, bordering Montpelier Hill and Montpelier Gardens, Dublin 7 and currently used for storage by the Defence Forces; whether he intends to build new premises as previously indicated or, dispose of the site for private or local authority housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There are no plans at present for development of this property. It is due to be vacated by the Defence Forces in the early part of 1997 following the completion of refurbishment work on the buildings on the opposite side of Infirmary Road. If it is not then required for any other public service, it will be offered for sale on the open market.
