111 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education whether she will grant extra time to a person (details supplied) for the 1996 leaving certificate history examination in view of an application made to her by this person's school principal. [11789/96]
The position is that extra time is allowed only in the case of visually impaired candidates, those who need the help of a scribe and those who would be unable to make adequate use of mechanical aids for recording their answers. Having consulted the school. I can confirm that my Department has made arrangements to grant extra time to the candidate concerned.
