Vol. 466 No. 5

Written Answers. - Land Disposal.

Peadar Clohessy

Ceist:

143 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the lands remaining under the jurisdiction of the Irish Land Commission will be disposed of; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11881/96]

I understand that at present the Land Commission has on hands approximately 3,174 hectares of lands, of which approximately 475 hectares is agricultural land. The Land Commission is no longer acquiring land. The lands on hand are being disposed of in accordance with the normal criteria used by the Land Commission. This work is ongoing and will be completed as speedily as resources allow.
