Ceist:70 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Justice the programme, if any, in place for the replacement or repair of Garda stations in the constituency of Cavan-Monaghan. [12708/96]
Written Answers. - Garda Stations Repairs.
The following stations in the Cavan-Monaghan division are currently listed for replacement/improvement works. In Stradone it is proposed to replace the existing Garda station with a basic unit station. In Shantonagh the Office of Public Works has been asked to secure a site for a new basic unit Garda station. In Castleblayney it is proposed to extend the existing station by way of a link to a detached house on the site. In Scotstown the Office of Public Works is in the process of trying to resolve site problems for a new basic unit station. In Emyvale it is proposed to build a small extension to the existing station.
While it is not possible to say when these works will be carried out, they will be completed as soon as possible having regard to overall priorities and the availability of finance.
