Vol. 467 No. 4

Written Answers. - Land Registry Query.

Mary O'Rourke

Ceist:

207 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Justice if she will request an immediate and satisfactory reply to the on-going query directed to the Land Registry Office on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath, which has been the subject of previous parliamentary questions and numerous legal items of correspondence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13168/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application for registration in this case was duly considered and was refused by the Registrar on the ground that the applicant had not established her right to the registration applied for. I am further informed that all documents were returned by the Land Registry to the lodging solicitors on 12 June 1996.

Mary O'Rourke

Ceist:

208 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Justice if her office will request the Land Registry office to deal completely and finally with a case (details supplied) in County Westmeath which has been ongoing for several years. [13187/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the registration referred to by the Deputy involves a Land Commission schedule. In the case of such schedules, the property is deemed to be registered as of date of vesting by the Land Commission.

I understand that the position in the Land Registry in relation to applicant's property on the schedule is that it has been mapped and that registration will be completed as soon as possible.
