Vol. 467 No. 4

Written Answers. - Court Victim Witness Programme.

Ben Briscoe

Ceist:

213 Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, made to date in establishing private consultation rooms as part of the Court Victim Witness Programme; the location of these rooms; the timetable and locations for the future provision of these rooms; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13326/96]

To date the Irish Association for Victim Support, who run the Court Victim Witness Programme, have been provided with two permanent rooms in the Four Courts, Dublin. Elsewhere, in completed Courthouse refurbishment projects such as Athlone, Ballinasloe, Clonmel, Cork District Court complex, Galway and Letterkenny a room is available to the association on day of use basis. Within the Courts Building Programme it is policy to provide the association with a room on day of use basis, in all major court venues.
