Vol. 468 No. 1

Written Answers. - Galway School Water Supply.

Noel Treacy

Ceist:

157 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Education the reason a proper water supply is not connected to a school (details supplied) in County Galway; if she will have arrangements made to have this facility fully connected to the school not later than 31 July 1996; if so, the date on which works will commence; the nature of the works to be executed; the amount of money being allocated in this respect; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14694/96]

My Department's professional advisers have been endeavouring to resolve technical difficulties in relation to the water supply at the school referred to by the Deputy. A report is expected in the Department shortly and will be considered without delay. The school authorities will then be notified of the Department's plans.

It is not possible at this time to state when works will commence, their nature or cost, but every effort is being made to restore a satisfactory supply as soon as possible.
