Vol. 468 No. 1

Written Answers. - Resident Non-Nationals.

Thomas P. Broughan

Ceist:

49 Mr. Broughan asked the Taoiseach the current number of non-nationals resident in this State, including the number of other EU nationals. [14916/96]

From the Labour Force Survey carried out in April/May 1995 it is estimated that about 96,000 non-nationals, 2.7 per cent of the total population, lived in Ireland at that time. Of these some 72,000, 2 per cent of the total population, were nationals of other European Union countries.
