Mary Wallace
Ceist:79 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health the current position regarding the urgent need for additional speech therapy and physiotherapy services for children with disabilities throughout the eight health boards; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that parents of children with disabilities are concerned that their children did not have this service available to them as early as required nor as frequently required when these children were developing and requiring the service to improve their development; the steps, if any, that have been taken within his Department to rectify this problem on a national basis in view of the complaints from parents throughout the country who stress that additional posts of physiotherapy and speech therapy will have to be approved by his Department in order to provide this service for children with disabilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
