182 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who lives alone will be called for an eye operation. [16183/96]

Limerick East): Inquiries were made from the Western Health Board regarding the person concerned and the board has confirmed that he is on the consultant ophthalmic surgeon's waiting list. However, the board is unable to provide an admission date at present.

The board has also suggested that if this person feels that his condition has deteriorated he should contact his general practitioner who could then highlight the urgency of his case to the consultant.

183 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for an eye operation in view of the fact that any delays will disrupt his education. [16184/96]

Limerick East): Inquiries were made from the Western Health Board regarding the person concerned but the board is unable to locate records for this person. If the Deputy wishes to verify that the details given are correct and if he could also supply the location, consultant and date he attended, the board will renew its inquiries into this matter.

184 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for an operation to remove cataracts on his eye. [16186/96]

Limerick East): The Western Health Board has confirmed that the patient in question is on the consultant ophthalmic surgeon's waiting list but is unable at present to indicate when he will be called.

As the Deputy is aware the scheduling of surgery is the clinical decision of the consultant concerned and should this person feel that his condition has deteriorated he should contact his general practitioner who is best placed to highlight the urgency of his case directly to the consultant.

185 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip joint operation in view of the fact that she is in severe pain and has already been waiting over three and a half years. [16187/96]

Limerick East): Inquiries have been made from the Western Health Board regarding the person concerned. The board has confirmed that this person is on the consultant orthopaedic surgeon's waiting list and expects that she will be called for operation in January.

186 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip operation in view of the fact that he has been waiting for over two years and is in considerable pain. [16188/96]

Limerick East): Inquiries have been made from the Western Health Board regarding the person concerned. The board has confirmed that this person is on its orthopaedic surgeon's waiting list since 1 July 1996. The board regrets that at this stage it is unable to provide an exact date for his appointment.

The board has suggested that if the person concerned feels that his condition has deteriorated he should contact his general practitioner who is best placed to take up the matter with the consultant directly.
