Ceist:

193 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health the number of people on the waiting list under the choice of dentist scheme in each health board area between the ages of 16 and 35 years who are awaiting routine treatment; and the number treated in 1995. [16285/96]

Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 192 and 193 together.

The provision of dental treatment, under the dental treatment services scheme, to persons with medical card entitlement is the statutory responsibility of the health boards. The information requested by the Deputy is not maintained by my Department. Accordingly, I have asked the chief executive officer of each health board to provide the information requested directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
