Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Meath School.

Mary Wallace

Ceist:

451 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education her views on whether the agreed extension to Ratoath primary school, County Meath should proceed immediately; her views on whether the temporary accommodation proposed for the children at the commencement of the year must not be allowed to be in place for more than a very short time; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16915/96]

Planning permission for the proposed extension at Ratoath national school was confirmed at the end of August. At present, my Department is awaiting a detailed cost plan from the school's design team.

As soon as the cost plan has been evaluated, I will be in a position to give a decision on the tender process.
It is desirable that the temporary accommodation should be in place for as short a period as possible.
