Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

469 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice if she will expedite the registration of lands for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [16194/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this registration refers to an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 20 August 1996. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49 take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion time at this stage.

However, I can confirm that the matter is being expedited by the Land Registry.

Ceist:

470 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice if she will issue a file plan from the Land Registry Office for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the plan is urgently needed for the sale of a property. [16197/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the copy folio and file plan were issued on 12 August 1996.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

471 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice if she will expedite the transfer of registration of title for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the dealing was lodged in 1990 and the delay is causing hardship. [16198/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing, which refers to a vesting in Mayo County Council of a house site, was lodged on 7 December, 1990. Queries were issued by the Land Registry on 11 April, 1991, to which replies were not received and a reminder issued on 21 June, 1993. A further reminder issued on 3 November, 1993, as the queries raised on 11 April, 1991, had still not been dealt with. The dealing was consequently treated as abandoned on 17 November, 1993.
