601 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the date on which the report on personal injury compensation commissioned by him from a company (details supplied) was commissioned; the date of completion of this report; and the date of publication; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The report on An Economic Evaluation of Insurance Costs in Ireland to which, I assume, the Deputy refers, was commissioned by my colleague, Deputy Pat Rabbitte, Minister of State with responsibility for commerce, science and technology, from Deloitte and Touche, Management Consultants on 14 June 1995.
The report has been submitted to Government prior to its publication. Detailed consideration is being given to the report's findings and recommendations which will provide the basis for developing a programme of measures aimed at addressing the key factors which contribute to high insurance costs in Ireland.
