610 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the amount of EU funds paid to farmers in each of the four provinces in each of the years from 1991 to 1996; and the categories under which such payments were made. [16150/96]
The amount of EU funds paid to farmers from 1991 to 1996 and the schemes in respect of which these payments were made are shown in the following table. The payment data for 1996 shown is in respect of the period to 31 August. Information sought on payments in each of the four provinces is not readily available and it would require an undue effort to extract detailed data now when every effort is being made in my Department to expedite payments to farmers.
